Privacy Policy

RocketCityEngineers.com is operated by Alexander's Test & Control Solutions LLC("we," "us"). It is a small, locally run resource for the Huntsville-area engineering community. We collect as little about you as we can, and this page explains — in plain language — what we collect, why, and who processes it on our behalf.

What we collect

Newsletter signups

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address, the page you signed up from, and the IP address of the request (used briefly to rate-limit spam). We store the subscription with our email platform (Beehiiv) and use it only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing actually works.

Accounts

If you create an account, we store your email address and the details you add — your role (job seeker or employer), discipline, clearance level, years of experience, target salary, saved jobs, saved searches, and alert preferences. This lives with our authentication and database provider, Supabase. Sign-in is by magic link delivered through our email provider (Resend); we never see or store a password.

Resumes and uploaded files

If you upload a resume, we store the file (PDF or DOCX) in Supabase Storage, restricted so only your account can access it. To power the optional AI tools, we send the resume to our AI provider (Anthropic) to extract structured fields — discipline, skills, education, roles, and clearance level — which we save to your account so you don't have to re-enter them. Do not upload classified, export-controlled (ITAR/EAR), or otherwise sensitive government information. This is a commercial website, not an accredited system. Your resume is private by default; it is shared with an employer only when you choose to apply to their jobon the site. We never sell resumes or show them to anyone other than an employer you've applied to.

AI tools

Optional features — "Explain this job," cover-letter drafts, interview prep, and career-path suggestions — send the relevant inputs (the job listing, your profile, and your parsed resume where applicable) to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic processes this data to return your result and, under our API terms, does not use it to train its models. You choose when to run these tools; nothing is sent unless you click.

Payments

If you buy a membership, or an employer buys a job posting, sponsored event, or verified-employer subscription, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number — Stripe does that as the payment processor. We store only what we need to grant access: your account's membership or subscription status, the Stripe order/subscription identifiers, and the date of purchase.

Employer inquiries

If you contact us through the employer inquiry or post-a-job form, we store the details you submit (name, company, email, message) so we can respond. A real person reads and replies.

Spam protection

Our signup, upload, and inquiry forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're a human and not a bot. Turnstile processes a token and limited request metadata for this purpose and does not track you across other sites.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool we host ourselves. It counts page views and referrers without cookies and without tracking you across other sites. It does not build a profile of you, and we don't sell or share analytics data.

Cookies

We use cookies only where they're needed to keep you signed in (Supabase session cookies) and, if you pay, to complete checkout (Stripe). We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there's no consent banner to click through.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data. Ever.
• We don't share your resume with an employer unless you apply to their job.
• We don't run third-party ad trackers.
• We don't let our AI provider train on your data.

Who processes your data

We share data only with the service providers that make the site work, each processing it solely to provide their service to us:

• Supabase — accounts, database, and file storage
• Resend — delivery of sign-in and notification emails
• Beehiiv — newsletter delivery
• Anthropic — AI processing for the optional tools (not used for model training)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Cloudflare — spam protection (Turnstile) and network delivery
• Our hosting provider — running the site itself

How long we keep it

Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe. Account data, saved items, and uploaded resumes: until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Purchase records: as long as needed for tax and accounting. Inquiry messages: as long as needed to handle the conversation.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You can email us to see, correct, export, or delete any data we hold about you, including your account and uploaded files. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR — we honor access and deletion requests from everyone regardless. This is a small operation, and a real person reads the inbox.

Children

This is a careers site intended for working adults. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
